Luminary Studio builds a small number of free websites each month for small businesses across Canada. You get a fast, mobile-friendly site of up to 5 pages, hosted free, with the domain in your name. You only pay for your domain, about CAD 20 a year. There is no contract and no obligation. Spots are limited to 2–3 per month, chosen from applications, with priority for businesses stuck on an old or slow website.

What does it cost me?
Only your domain name, about CAD 20 a year, registered in your own name. There is no contract, and you are under no obligation to buy anything else.
What is not included?
The free website covers the list above and nothing more. These are not included:
- Further edits after 30 days
- Writing all of your content (you provide your logo, photos and basic text)
- Online stores and booking systems
- Extra pages beyond 5
- Ongoing SEO
- Google Business Profile management
- Advertising
If you want any of these, they are available as paid extras or as part of the Local Growth Plan, CAD 250 per month before tax. Both are optional.
Why are you doing this?
Honestly: we are a growing Surrey studio building our portfolio. With your permission, we will show your site as a case study and add a small “Website by Luminary Studio” credit in the footer. We do not ask for, or offer anything in exchange for, Google reviews.
Who gets picked?
We take 2–3 businesses a month, anywhere in Canada, chosen from applications. Priority goes to businesses with an old or slow WordPress site. Is it really free?
Yes, with conditions. You pay nothing for the design, build, hosting or the first round of changes. You only pay for your domain name, about CAD 20 a year, registered in your own name. The offer covers up to 5 pages, there are only 2–3 spots a month, and spots are chosen from applications, so not every application can be accepted. There is no contract and no obligation to buy anything.
Who owns the website and domain?
You do. Your domain is registered in your name, and you keep access to it. You own your content, logo and photos, and we hand over the site files so you can move them if you ever want to.
Do I have to sign up for a monthly plan?
No. The free website has no monthly plan attached. If you later want ongoing help, such as local SEO, Google Business Profile management or ads, the Local Growth Plan is CAD 250 per month before tax, with an initial three-month term of CAD 750 before tax. It is optional and separate.
How long does it take?
There is no fixed promise. It depends mainly on when we receive your content: your logo, photos and the basic text about your business. Once we have it, we build and share the site for review.
Can you rebuild my existing WordPress site?
